Frankly, I don’t care if Jesus was born in April or December.
\nWhether it was a stable or guest room.
\nI don’t care if Mary was a virgin or not.
\nI don’t care whether Christians enfolded the celebration of winter solstice or any other spiritual celebration into the celebration of Christmas.<\/p>\n

They all point to the same star, comet, or whatever.
\nThey all point
\nto hope
\nto Godde’s intervention
\nto the lesson that
\nGodde is with us
\nand in us.<\/p>\n

Our stories are stories
\nto mark time
\nto mark shifts in understanding
\nand new openness
\nto unimagined possibilites
\nand outrageous dreaming.<\/p>\n

Our stories try to
\nwrap the gift of Love
\nin beautiful words
\nand extraordinary pictures
\nin characters that resonate
\nacross time.<\/p>\n

Is it true? I have been asked.
\nAnd I wonder what the questioner means
\nam I being asked,
\nare the facts of the matter true?
\nWe will never know by scientific method
\nor any other method
\nso I must believe the ‘facts’ have no meaning.<\/p>\n

What has meaning is
\nthat\u00a0we experience Godde-with-us
\nthat we stand in awe of the vulnerability of the Sacred
\nthat we bear the Light of hope
\nthat we see visions of Godde’s dream for humanity
\nthat we are utterly undone by the miracles
\nwe experience every day:
\nbirth
\nand life
\nand connection
\nand the Mystery
\nand Miracle
\nthat moves among us
\nevery time we see Godde
\nin unexpected places.
\nEvery time Godde calls us
\nto bear witness to something
\nboth wonderful
\nand beyond our ability to
