If you awoke to a clench in your gut
\na shiver in your chest
\nan ache in your heart
\ntrust me, those feelings belong there.
\nEvery day the assault on our ideals continues.
\nWe question who we are
\ngrieve who we have been
\nand anguish over
\nwho we are becoming.<\/p>\n
The day of Trump is upon us
\nbecause we, as a \u00a0people,
\nhave been willfully ignorant
\nunconsciously arrogant
\nand unable to concede\u00a0our complicity.
\nThe consequences are upon us.<\/p>\n
